FAQs

  • How do you communicate with clients?

Communication is usually handled via email, phone, WhatsApp or Zoom, depending on what suits the project. For commercial photography, videography and ongoing brand work, I keep things clear and straightforward from initial enquiry through to delivery.

You can get in touch via the contact page to start a conversation.

  • Do you work across other photography genres?

While my work is primarily focused on commercial photography — including food and drink, product photography, corporate photography, portraits and headshots — I also have experience photographing events, live music and other commercial projects.

I’m always open to discussing briefs that sit slightly outside these areas where there’s a good fit.

  • Are you available on my chosen date?

Availability depends on the scope and timing of the project. If you’re planning a commercial photography or videography shoot, feel free to get in touch with your proposed dates and brief, and I’ll confirm availability as soon as possible.

  • How far in advance should I book a photographer?

Booking timelines vary depending on the type and scale of the project. Some commercial photography and videography work can be scheduled at short notice, while others benefit from more advance planning.

For events and time-sensitive shoots, as much notice as possible is always recommended. The best way to confirm availability is to get in touch and discuss your brief.

  • Do you require a deposit or booking fee?

Most commercial photography and videography projects require a 50% deposit to secure the booking, with the remaining balance due upon delivery of the final images or video.

Full details are always confirmed in advance as part of the booking process.

  • What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

Cancellation and rescheduling are handled on a case-by-case basis and depend on the nature of the project. Where possible, options to reschedule are discussed early in the process.

If I’m unable to attend a shoot due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness or injury, I will either arrange a suitable replacement or offer a full refund.

  • How do I secure my booking?

Your booking is secured once the agreed deposit has been received. This applies to commercial photography and videography projects, with full details confirmed as part of the booking process. Your deposit secures your booking.

  • How much do you charge?

My day rate is £350.00 across pre-production, shooting, and post-production including colour grading and retouching of photographs.

Pricing can vary depending on the scope, usage and requirements of each project, so I’m always happy to discuss details and provide a tailored quote.

  • How much does commercial photography cost in the UK?

Commercial photography costs in the UK vary depending on the scope, usage and production requirements of the project.

Day rates typically start from a base fee, with additional costs depending on factors such as licensing, shoot complexity, location, crew, and post-production needs.

The most accurate way to determine cost is to discuss the brief and intended usage so a tailored quote can be provided.

  • What affects the cost of a photography shoot?

Several factors influence the cost of a photography shoot, including pre-production planning, shoot duration, location, equipment requirements, styling, post-production time and how the images will be used.

Commercial projects may also factor in licensing, usage duration and distribution channels. Every project is assessed individually to ensure pricing reflects the actual work involved.

  • Do you charge usage or licensing fees?

Yes. For commercial photography, usage and licensing are an important part of pricing.

Fees are based on how and where the images will be used—for example, website use, social media, advertising, print campaigns or paid media. This ensures fair and transparent pricing that aligns with industry standards.

  • What usage is included in the fee?

Usage is agreed at the quoting stage and outlined clearly in your proposal.

This typically includes all forms of paid advertising including digital and print. Any additional or expanded usage can be arranged if your needs change in the future.

  • Can images be used for advertising or paid campaigns?

Yes. Images can be licensed for advertising, paid social, digital campaigns or print advertising. Advertising usage is quoted separately, as it typically involves wider reach and longer-term value.

This is discussed upfront to ensure clarity and avoid surprises later.

  • Do you offer buyouts or extended licences?

Yes. Buyouts or extended licences can be arranged depending on the project. These are typically used for long-term campaigns, large-scale advertising or situations where unlimited usage is required.

I’m happy to advise on the most appropriate option for your needs.

  • Do you provide custom quotes?

Yes — every project is different. Quotes are tailored based on the scope of work, time required and usage, with pricing reflecting the estimated time needed to complete the project from pre-production through to final delivery.

  • Do your prices include editing and retouching?

Yes — all quotes include post-production, such as editing, colour grading and retouching, where appropriate. This is always outlined clearly in advance so you know exactly what’s included.

  • Are travel or location fees included in your pricing?

Travel, location fees and any additional project expenses are quoted separately where applicable and included clearly within your overall quote. All costs are outlined in advance so there are no surprises.

  • Do you offer both photography and videography?

Yes — I work professionally across both photography and videography. Each discipline has its own approach, and I’m experienced in delivering stills and motion content for commercial, corporate and brand-led projects.

  • How would you describe your photographic style?

My style is adaptable and led by the needs of the project. I’m drawn to bold, confident imagery, but I also value a more restrained, timeless approach where appropriate.

The focus is always on creating considered photography that communicates clearly and evokes the right response for the subject and audience.

  • Can I share references or inspiration for my project?

Absolutely. Reference images, mood boards, sketches or material samples are always welcome — anything that helps communicate ideas and visual direction.

Sharing inspiration early on is a valuable part of the planning process for commercial photography and videography projects.

  • Do you work with a team or solo?

This depends on the scale and requirements of the project. Smaller commercial photography jobs are typically handled by myself, while larger productions may involve an assistant or, for videography projects, a second shooter working under my direction.

  • Do you shoot both indoors and outdoors?

Yes — I work both indoors and outdoors, across studio and on-location shoots. Projects are planned to suit the environment, with experience working in a wide range of conditions.

  • How long does it take to receive the final photos?

Turnaround time depends on the type and scope of the project and is discussed during the initial planning stage. Some work, such as event photography, can be delivered within a few days, while product, food or corporate photography may require more detailed post-production and take longer. Delivery timelines are always agreed in advance.

  • How many images will I receive?

The number of final images is agreed during the consultation and depends on the type and scope of the project. Different genres require different levels of production — for example, business headshots typically yield more images than detailed food or product photography.

Final image numbers are based on what can be produced to a high standard within the allocated time.

  • Will I receive high-resolution image files?

Yes. Final images are delivered as high-resolution files suitable for print and digital use, typically supplied as JPEG or PNG. TIFF files and other specific formats can also be provided on request where required.

  • Do you deliver RAW or unedited photos?

No — I don’t deliver RAW or unedited files. The editing, colour grading and retouching process is a core part of my work and an essential stage of professional photography. RAW files are unfinished materials that don’t represent the final quality, style or standard of the work, much like unedited footage in video production.

The images you receive are fully processed and carefully refined to ensure consistency, accuracy and a polished final result that reflects both the brief and my creative approach.

  • How are the photos delivered?

Images are typically delivered via a secure online gallery, making it easy to view, download and share files. Alternative delivery options, such as Dropbox, can also be arranged if required.

  • Do you offer prints or albums?

Yes. Prints and albums are available on request and can be discussed as part of your project or after image delivery.

  • Can you help choose a location for the shoot?

Absolutely. My background in videography has given me strong experience in planning, logistics and location management, whether that’s selecting studios, workplaces or on-location settings that best suit the brief.

I’m always open to suggestions too—if you have a location in mind, I’m happy to explore it together.

  • Do you provide lighting, equipment or props?

Professional lighting and camera equipment are included as standard for all photography and videography projects.

For more specialised equipment or larger setups, external hire may be required—any additional costs will always be clearly outlined in your quote.

I also have a growing collection of props, although some briefs may require a separate prop budget depending on the creative direction.

  • How long does a typical session last? What should I wear or prepare? What if the weather changes?

These details vary depending on the type of photography involved—whether it’s a corporate shoot, headshots, product photography, food and drink, or an event.

Session length, preparation guidance (including wardrobe and styling), and weather contingencies are all discussed during the planning stage to ensure you’re fully prepared.

Feel free to get in touch and I’ll be happy to advise based on your specific project.

  • Do you travel outside your main area?

Yes. While I’m based in the South East, I regularly work across London and travel throughout the UK. I’m also available for international projects where required.

  • Do you offer white-label photography or videography for agencies?

Yes, I do offer white-label photography and videography services on a project-by-project basis. I regularly collaborate with marketing agencies, creative studios and production teams. If you’re an agency looking for a discreet, reliable partner, feel free to get in touch to discuss your needs.

  • How long have you been a photographer?

I’ve worked professionally in the creative industry since 2016, initially as a videographer after graduating from university.

Since 2019, my work has combined both photography and videography, including time spent working in-house at a marketing agency before moving into freelance practice.

  • Where can I see examples of your work?

You can view a wide selection of my work here on the site via the portfolio page, which showcases projects across commercial, corporate, food and drink, product photography, portraits and headshots. I also regularly share recent work and behind-the-scenes content on Instagram.

  • Do you have insurance?

Yes. I hold full public liability and professional indemnity insurance, providing cover for commercial, corporate and on-location photography and videography projects.

  • What types of clients have you worked with before?

I’ve worked with a broad range of clients, including brands, businesses, agencies and individuals, across commercial photography, food and drink, product photography, corporate work, portraits and headshots.

Projects range from small teams and start-ups to established organisations. The best way to see the breadth of this work is through my portfolio.

  • Do you photograph weddings as well as other events?

While my work is primarily focused on commercial, corporate and event photography, I do photograph weddings on a limited basis. It’s not a service I actively advertise, but I’m happy to discuss wedding enquiries where there’s a good fit. Feel free to get in touch to chat through the details.

  • Is a food stylist required for a food photography shoot?

For food and drink photography, a food stylist is highly recommended. Food styling is a specialist skill, and an experienced stylist brings valuable knowledge, creativity and technical expertise to a shoot.

Their role is to prepare and present dishes at their best for camera, helping elevate the overall quality of the imagery. I’m also happy to recommend trusted food stylists where appropriate.

  • Is a make-up artist required for my shoot?

A make-up artist isn’t essential for every shoot, but they can add real value. For office-style headshots or corporate photography, professional make-up may not be necessary, though it’s often worth considering if budget allows.

For editorial, branding or portrait photography, a make-up artist is usually recommended, as they help ensure subjects are presented at their best on camera. As with food styling in food photography, the right make-up artist can elevate the final images — and I’m happy to recommend trusted professionals where appropriate.

  • Can you sign NDAs or work confidentially?

Yes. I’m experienced in working under NDAs and handling confidential or unreleased projects. This is common when working with brands, agencies and corporate clients, and I’m happy to accommodate confidentiality requirements.

  • Do you offer corporate headshots for teams or offices?

Yes. I provide corporate headshots for teams, offices and organisations of all sizes. These can be shot on location at your workplace or in a studio setting, with a consistent and professional look tailored to your brand.

  • Do you provide photography for LinkedIn and professional profiles?

Absolutely. I regularly photograph professional headshots and portraits for LinkedIn, company websites, press profiles and personal branding. Sessions are designed to produce polished, confident images suitable for professional use across platforms.

  • Do you offer on-location photography for businesses?

Yes. I frequently work on location at offices, studios, workplaces and commercial premises. On-location photography allows your business to be captured authentically within its own environment, whether for corporate, branding or marketing purposes.

  • What makes you different from other photographers?

That’s always a difficult question for any creative to answer. Alongside a strong attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality commercial photography, I place a lot of value on being clear, honest and direct throughout a project.

I’m transparent at every stage — from planning and pricing through to delivery — and aim to make the process straightforward and collaborative. A no-nonsense, open approach helps ensure projects run smoothly and expectations are always aligned.

  • Do you offer fast turnaround or rush delivery?

Fast turnaround or rush delivery can be arranged depending on availability and project requirements. If you’re working to a tight deadline, this can be discussed during planning and reflected in the quote where applicable.
